What is IV therapy and how does it work?

IV therapy is a way to support the body by placing an IV catheter in the arm, which allows fluid, vitamins, etc. to enter directly into the bloodstream. This form of nutrition/hydration allows full absorption by bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. Clients respond well to IV nutritional/hydration therapies.

Do I need a Wellness Exam before my first appointment?

Yes, all clients are required to be seen either in person or via telehealth once a year by a licensed provider. A Wellness Exam must be completed prior to your first appointment at Peak IV and can either be done by our Nurse Practitioners or by our Medical Director.

The exams provided by Nurse Practitioners cost $30 and take approximately 10 minutes.

The exam provided by our Medical Director costs $175 and will include bloodwork. Clients who qualify for this exam have more complex medical conditions and require ongoing care. Some of our IV therapies require bloodwork, such as ozone and high dose vitamin C.

What are the benefits of IV therapy?

Benefits of IV therapy include increased hydration, immune system support, reduction of free-radicals, symptom relief such as pain and headaches, infection fighting support, anti-aging benefits, lowered histamine response, anti-inflammatory properties, and many more. IV nutritional/hydration therapy may also support the body to manage symptoms of chronic conditions and correct vitamin deficiencies from medications.

What can I expect for my first appointment?

As a new client of Peak IV, you will receive a "Welcome" e-mail, which includes a consent and medical intake form. Once these are complete, you can choose to participate in the Wellness Exam at home or in our clinic, since it is through telehealth. The Wellness Exam is required annually, unless there are changes in your medical condition.

You may then schedule an appointment with Peak IV!

When you arrive at the clinic, you will be greeted by a Registered Nurse who will review your information and take your vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level, and temperature). Any questions you may have will be answered. Then the RN will start an IV in your arm and your therapy will begin. You will be monitored closely throughout the therapy. When complete, we will take your vital signs again and remove the IV from your arm. Many clients report feeling better immediately afterwards.

At Peak IV, we are a team of experienced healthcare professionals with many years of critical care and hospital experience. We are educated in infection control and fully understand the importance of safe practices. Our IV therapies are mixed in clinic following 797 Pharmacy Compliance Standards in an approved hood.

IV therapy is invasive and there are minimal risks involved, but Peak IV strives to prevent these risks by staying up to date on safe practice guidelines and using professional, medical grade supplies. We prioritize maintaining a clean, safe environment for our clients.
